Formosa Solar's floating solar project in Pingtung receives international certification from TÜV NORD, with the certificate presented in person at our Taipei office. It's also the first floating solar project in Taiwan to achieve full third-party international verification.
The project has a capacity of around 10 MW and is built on existing detention ponds, showing how solar can work alongside existing infrastructure without changing its original function.
To better handle extreme weather, we upgraded the structure to withstand wind speeds of 42.5 m/s. Bringing in third-party certification also helps build stronger confidence as insurance and financing standards become more demanding. A meaningful step forward, not just for this project, but for Taiwan's floating solar development as a whole.
