Taiwan’s solar PV industry continues to grapple with the challenge of limited land resources, prompting the exploration of various innovative development models. In Gaoshu, Pingtung, a 40-hectare large-scale solar farm has transformed abandoned land—previously damaged by illegal gravel excavation—into a productive renewable-energy site capable of powering more than 70,000 households annually.

In 2025, Taiwan’s solar market faces multiple challenges, with a noticeable slowdown in new panel installations. Local industry players are actively seeking the next wave of growth opportunities. Beyond collaborating with government agencies to develop multi-purpose solar projects and increase the share of green energy, companies are also advancing solar module recycling mechanisms to ensure that retired modules can be reused—ultimately fostering a circular and sustainable green-energy ecosystem.

At the Taiwan International Smart Energy Week, the spotlight is on net-zero carbon reduction and the nation’s energy transition. Formosa Solar Renewable Energy Group has distinguished itself with its “one-stop green power solutions,” helping corporations plan their mid- to long-term decarbonization strategies and rising to become one of Taiwan’s top ten green power supply platforms.

Amid the fluctuations and challenges of Taiwan’s renewable energy market in 2025, Formosa Solar Renewable Energy Group continues to advance steadily in its energy-transition efforts. The Group showcases a comprehensive presence across solar development, in-house operations and maintenance, green power wheeling, and long-term sustainability practices.

Our “Energy efficiency and support program” marks its third year! This year, we joined hands with the BJS Foundation, donating NT$300,000 to help 10 low-income families replace old, energy-consuming appliances with brand-new, Grade 1 energy-efficient refrigerators.

Last year, together with the Wenfeng community in Pingtung, we turned "energy saving" into a shared practice—replacing outdated appliances with efficient lighting and cooling, transforming discarded fishing nets and textiles into an environmental education hub, and introducing low-carbon dining through locally cultivated seaweed.

Among 360 participating companies in Taiwan, we are proud to be recognized for the third time as one of the Best Companies to Work for in Asia.

For three consecutive years, Formosa Solar has voluntarily published its sustainability report, demonstrating a transparent and responsible approach to stakeholder engagement.

Yuheng Energy, part of Formosa Solar Renewable Energy Group, won the 2025 FIABCI-Taiwan Real Estate Excellence Award in the Planning and Design category for the Pingtung Beishin Solar Sports Park.
