Formosa Solar has been supporting community development for many years. This year, we collaborated with Pingtung's Wenfeng Community to assist in creating green spaces, replacing outdated and energy-consuming appliances, improving the environmental education center, promoting low-carbon dining, and conducting home visits to raise awareness about energy conservation and carbon reduction.
Through our "Energy-Saving Partner Program," we are supporting Wenfeng Community by installing energy-efficient lighting and air conditioning systems to reduce carbon emissions and improve the community environment. We’re also creating an environmental education theater by using discarded fishing nets, old clothing, and marine debris, which will serve as a future space for environmental education activities. Additionally, we are leveraging the coastal resources of the area by cultivating carbon-sequestering seaweed and promoting a low-carbon seaweed-based diet.
Formosa Solar cherishes the land of Taiwan, not only dedicating itself to solar energy investment and development but also ingraining environmental sustainability in its corporate culture. We prioritize environmental issues, and all employees actively participate in the mountain and the beach cleanup initiative. We venture to Shitoushan and Zhongjiao Bay, taking practical actions to safeguard Taiwan's mountains and coasts. Through this initiative, we communicate our commitment to environmental protection to society.Formosa Solar aims to lead by example within our company, encouraging colleagues to engage in eco-friendly actions, steering towards a cleaner and sustainable future.
Formosa Solar initiatives an energy-saving and family assistance program and partner with TCTF (Taiwan Fund for Children and Families) in Pingtung. Formosa solar donates NT$450,000 to help the disadvantaged families chosen by TCTF, to provide them energy-efficient refrigerator to replace the old and energy-intensive one, it is expected to reduce power consumption by more than 1.5 times. It is hoped that through this program, we could realize equal, inclusive, and a sustainable future in which no one is left behind under the energy transition.
Hsin-Kuo Community of Pingtung is near to the Gaoshu Photoelectric Demonstration Zone under Formosa Solar. For giving back to society, Formosa Solar has been actively building community ties since 2021. In addition to donating funds for local activities, Formosa Solar also sponsors CCTV for road safety and road lighting system in 2023-2024.
