Message from our CEO
Time flies by quickly when you are doing great work. We started our journey seven years ago to establish Formosa Solar as a leading renewable energy company in Taiwan. Since then, we have achieved multiple milestones that positioned us one of the leaders in the industry. We have built more than 480 projects across Taiwan, generating more than 874 GWh of renewable electricity by end of 2023 and providing renewable electricity to over 60,000 Taiwanese households per year. Along the way, we created jobs and contributed to local communities.
After years of active involvement as a Board Director, I stepped up to the role of the CEO in early 2023 with the objective to further strengthen our core strengths around development flexibility, high quality construction requirements and best-in-class operation. Our end-to-end capabilities across development, permitting, procurement, construction management and operation & maintenance give us a strong foundation to truly make a difference to Taiwan's energy transition towards a cleaner and greener future. This is only possible with the fantastic work by the employees of Formosa Solar Power. Your contributions were invaluable, and I am committed to supporting each and everyone of you to reach your fullest potential.
Our stakeholders seek reliability amid the opportunities and challenges of developing renewable energy projects in Taiwan. At Formosa Solar Renewable Power, our mission is to a Reliable Partner to our stakeholders, including our landlords, business partners, local and central government entities, corporate clients, financing partners and shareholders. We strive to be a reliable partner in Taiwan's energy transition. This is our Corporate Culture.
Taiwan's renewable energy development has come a long way since we started in 2016. The National Development Council announced its 12 key strategic actions and plans for transitioning to net zero emission by 2050, and Taiwan's carbon reduction goal for 2030 has been revised upwards to 24+1%. As a leading renewable energy company in Taiwan, we see this as an opportunity for further growth, while also recognizing the challenges that come with it. We see many white spaces to grow and further elevate our business to greater heights.
In 2023, Formosa Solar Power received four major awards, recognizing our effort in sustainability, talent development and built quality. This includes Taiwan Corporate Sustainability Award (TCSA), Taiwan Sustainability Action Award (TSAA), HR Asia Best Companies to work for in Asia and FIABCI-Taiwan Real Estate Excellence Award. We are humbled by the recognition and will continue our commitment towards sustainability, talent development and construction quality.
We embody our five core values of integrity, innovation, collaboration, care and transparency in each and every step of our work. By implementing innovative approach and having strong commitment from all of us at Formosa Solar Renewable Power, we will make even greater contributions to Taiwan's renewable energy and carbon reduction goals.
